Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center (TIOBEC) is a not-for-profit organization that employs passionate and talented individuals committed to educating and empowering youth. TIOBEC works in partnership with Boston Public Schools and the National Park Service to get participants out in the natural world and learning through experience.
To work for Thompson Island Outward Bound Educational Center one must believe in our mission and realize that it takes a multi-talented, flexible and well-coordinated team to run Thompson Island and our programs. That team includes Outward Bound instructors and support staff, our waterfront and boat crew, maintenance and grounds crew, food service staff, Thompson Island Conference Center staff, and our administrative departments. Although most positions are island-based, additionally we staff a mainland office.

Staff Training Opportunities
We offer exceptional training for each of our program areas and encourage staff development. We hire outdoor educators, aspiring teachers and interns hoping to take part in this unique and rewarding work.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course on Thompson Island, April 28-29 2012.
Offered on Thompson Island with optional CPR certification to follow. This course will provide students with a Solo WFA Certification and recertifies individuals holding a current WFR
