|  To work for Thompson Island Outward Bound Educational Center one must believe in our mission and realize that it takes a multi-talented, flexible and well-coordinated team to run Thompson Island and our programs. That team includes Outward Bound instructors and support staff, our waterfront and boat crew, maintenance and grounds crew, food service staff, Thompson Island Conference Center staff, and our administrative departments. Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center Mission Statement Thompson Island Outward Bound is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide adventurous and challenging experiential learning programs that inspire character development, compassion, community service, environmental responsibility and academic achievement. Our organization principally serves early adolescents from all economic and social communities of greater metropolitan Boston, and the institutions and adults who support them. AccountingThe accounting department tracks all revenue and expenses that go through Thompson Island.

DevelopmentGenerous individuals, foundations and corporations provide much of the funding for our programs. The development department builds and maintains relationships with these supporters. Contact: development@thompsonisland.org EventsWe host clambakes and special events on the island; revenue from this service supports our youth programming. The events department sees to it that all food, recreation and transportation issues are worked out for guests. Event planners, chefs and food staff are part of this team.
