|  Supporting Thompson Island Outward Bound means giving all students opportunities to learn about themselves in the most powerful of ways—by “doing.” A boy who climbs our 60-foot Alpine Tower realizes that he shouldn’t fear anything—even an academic exam like the MCAS. A girl who sails and lives with nine other girls on a tiny boat in Boston Harbor taps into her own mental toughness and the power of teamwork.
