School and Community Youth Group Courses

Elementary School Programs-Grade 5

Environmental Expedition: 4-day or 5-day environmental program

Goals: Students will learn about woodland and salt marsh ecosystems through hands-on outdoor activities. Environmental stewardship and group cooperation will be emphasized through non-competitive games and low ropes challenges.

Core Values: Learning through Experience, Environmental Responsibility and Compassion

Curriculum Standards: Environmental science, age appropriate social and emotional growth

Program Elements: Games, initiatives, low ropes, environmental activities

Location: Thompson Island, Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area

Environmental Discovery: one-day environmental program

Program Elements: Games, initiatives, low ropes

Location: Thompson Island, Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area

Insight & Resilience Overnight: 2-day team building with overnight camping

Goals: Students will learn about group cooperation through games, hands-on challenges and low ropes activities. Communication and listening skills, plus compassion for others will be emphasized. The overnight camping experience will allow students the opportunity to work together to set up camp, prepare and clean up meals and furthur develop a cooperative community.
