Passages: Expeditions for 12-13 year-old boys

Passages®

Through character development and self-discovery, Passages® leads boys down the path to becoming young men. The Passages courses give boys the opportunity to find their individual strengths and learn self-reliance as they take care of themselves off the coast of the Boston Harbor. Leadership, teamwork and passion are emphasized as key factors in these expeditions.

On sailing or sea kayaking courses, students learn how to read nautical charts and maneuver boats along the Massachusetts coast, stopping on various islands in the Boston Harbor Islands National Park. Through learning by doing, Thompson Island will teach these boys the ins and outs of outdoor living while focusing on our philosophy of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Inclusion and Diversity. Passages courses are known to give boys a powerful sense of accomplishment and independence – sending them back out into the world as young men.
