Corporate Volunteer Program

Our corporate volunteer program began in 2008 with just 15 service days, 8 companies, and 460 volunteers. In four short years, the demand and the participation have increased dramatically. In 2011, 1,309 volunteers from 17 companies devoted 7,331 hours over 35 service days on Thompson Island!

We are so grateful for the support of our volunteers – we literally could not have done it without them! Through their efforts, we were able to preserve our 204 acre island as the premier destination for outdoor youth education. Volunteers cleaned our beaches, maintained our trails, planted new trees, and created the new outdoor Family Learning Center.

We hope that you will consider involving your company in volunteer service in 2012. Until then, there are many ways to stay connected:

  1. Young Professionals Network – the YPN hosts 2-3 events each year to provide young professionals with fun, engaging, and adventurous activities to further develop their individual networks and career growth. Join our mailing list to receive future invitations!

  2. The 10th Annual Evening Expedition will be held April 12, 2012 – This is our largest fundraiser of the year and has raised $2.8M for Thompson Island Outward Bound. We hope that you will join us this year to honor our generous partners and celebrate our incredible achievements!

  3. Please consider donating $25 to help us engage thousands of youth in science-based outdoor education each year. Don’t you wish your middle school science lab had been in a salt marsh?
