About the Island
Thompson Island Outward Bound is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide adventurous and challenging experiential learning programs that inspire character development, compassion, community service, environmental responsibility and academic achievement for early adolescents from all economic and social communities of greater metropolitan Boston, and the institutions and adults who support them.
About the Young Professionals Network
The Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center Young Professionals Network has two important purposes:

To gather a group of young professionals who are interested in supporting the mission of Thompson Island Outward Bound.

To provide young professionals within the greater Boston area with fun, engaging, and adventurous activities to further develop their individual networks and career growth.
Our most recent event, a volunteer service day, was held Saturday, June 11, 2011. Over 30 volunteers helped to clear a campsite in preparation for our first season of Environmental Explorations. After a couple hours of work, the Young Professionals Network enjoyed a delicious BBQ and played some fun games. Check out the pictures from this summer’s volunteer service day here.
